Computer Lab
Students at Central School of Practical Nursing have access to
our advanced computer technology. Specially designed software for nursing
students allows realistic and interactive learning to practice:
 | Vital signs (pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and temperature) |
 | Sterile technique |
 | Breath sounds |
 | Medication administration |
 | Maternity and pediatric nursing |
Additionally, the school has computer programs to help students with:
 | Anatomy and physiology |
 | Refresher math skills |
 | Reading rate and comprehension |
 | Typing/Keyboarding |
 | Preparation to take NCLEX-PN (state board examination) |
Students may use computers to:
 | Type papers/projects for school |
 | Research class projects via the Internet |

Nursing Skills Lab
In our skills lab, you will practice many of the procedures
you learn in the program before you perform these skills in the clinical
setting.
Using a setting that simulates real patient care, you will learn to:
 | Make a hospital bed |
 | Perform bed baths |
 | Administer range of motion exercises |
 | Transfer patients |
 | Perform vital signs |
 | Provide dressing changes |
 | Insert Foley catheters |
 | Provide tracheostomy care |
 | Give injections |
 | Administer oral medication |
